The Family Process

STEP 01:
SAY HELLO
Capturing the essence of family is one of my greatest joys. There’s something magical about the moments I get to preserve, and I often catch myself smiling while editing your photos. It’s those tender expressions of love between parents and their children—the way a mother and father light up as they gaze at their little ones, the sparkle in a child’s eyes as dad tickles them, or when mom leans in to share a secret. These are the memories I want you to cherish, and I’m here to help you create them. I’d love to hear more about your family and what you envision for your session. I can’t wait to connect with you!
STEP 02:
CONSULTATION
We will then consult with your vision, color choices and package details for the session. I will send over an electronic contract and questionnaire. A paid session fee and signed agreement are required to secure your session. I will help with styling and wardrobe so that your family look and feel beautiful. We will also pick out a location that is perfect for the overall look and feel of the session you want.
STEP 03:
THE SESSION
It’s finally here! As soon as you arrive at the photoshoot location, I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way, making sure everyone feels relaxed and comfortable. I believe that the most beautiful family photos come from capturing real emotions and natural interactions, so I encourage you to just be yourselves and enjoy the moment. I’ll be right there to capture those genuine, heartfelt moments. The session will include a mixture of traditional poses as well as candid lifestyles moments. Sessions typically last between 30 minutes to 1 hour.
STEP 04:
YOUR IMAGES
Within a week you will receive your proofing gallery via email. Your proofs are lightly edited to give you an idea of their final appearance. Once you’ve selected your images for your package, I will put the finishing touches on your photos and send the download link to your high resolution files. Your gallery will remain active for one month after delivery, allowing you plenty of time to share with family and decided on any purchases.

PRICING

Sweet Tales Photography offers simple, all-inclusive digital packages that allow you to take home all of your favorite images from your session.

A $200 retainer is due at the time of booking to reserve your day and time and is applied toward your total collections.

Your family’s session will last 30 minutes to an hour at an outdoor location. If you have more than 5 people add $20 for each additional person to allow for extra time and editing.

FAQs

What is your shooting style for family photos?

I do both posed and lifestyle images during the session. My style is geared towards capturing real moments! This means getting you interacting more rather than posing, and having a fun time together because that is where the magic happens! I will 100% guide you through the process!

When should I book?

Booking well in advance for a family session is recommended! Fall and spring are the busiest month and most clients book in advanced.

What time do you book your session?

Golden hour is the most beautiful light of the day and the time when all my outdoor sessions are scheduled (about 1 hour prior to sunset). I do not book any outdoor sessions mid-day, but I can book sunrise sessions if that works better with your schedule. In-home sessions are usually scheduled in the morning before nap time for little ones.

What if it rains or is windy?

If your session date is rained out or has winds, we can reschedule for another date. Depending on location and wind velocity, I may suggest a location change in order to still conduct your session on scheduled date if needed.

What if my kids won’t engage?

That’s okay! Many children are shy or have a hard time with posing for photos. This is why we forget the posing and just get you all hanging out and loving on each other! You enjoy the moment and I’ll worry about the photos. I will not force a child to do anything he or she doesn’t want to do. It will only make them upset and they will not enjoy the experience. I am very good at feeling out personalities and adapting to any situation.

Do you offer mini sessions for families?

Yes I do, but they are seasonal and limited. I do offer Fall, spring and Christmas minis. These typically sells out quickly and are huge hit for those who are looking for a quick session with a few images.

How long will my gallery be online?

Your gallery will be accessible online for 30 days after the final images sent. Also your images will be stored will be accessible for 2 year. Please do not hesitate to reach out if something happens to your images, they will be small fee to archie your images.

Should I have professional hair and makeup done?

Photo day is a great opportunity to treat yourself to something special. While it’s not necessary, a little pampering can really enhance your photos! We suggest skipping a spray tan on the day of the shoot and keeping your styling as natural as possible, allowing your true essence to shine through.

Do you offer prints?

Yes I do! You can find the print prices on your proofing gallery. We have made ordering simple and list most of our products in our online gallery store. Don’t see something you were looking for? Reach out! We can either order it for you or recommend the best place for printing.

what should i wear?

I have wardrobe available in my studio for all the mom and kids. I will also guide you with choosing the right color and styling options.
